Google Launches AI Tool: Condenses Long Articles to Key Points

Google has introduced a new tool in its Google Search app on Android and iOS, found within the Search Labs section. This tool is part of the Search Generative Experience (SGE) and differs from Google's AI chatbot Bard. Its purpose is to enhance search results and will soon extend to Chrome as well. The primary aim of this SGE feature is to assist users in effectively engaging with lengthy articles by condensing the content into key points. This tool will be particularly helpful for individuals who are new to a specific topic. However, it's important to note that this feature will not work with articles that are behind a paywall. One notable aspect of this new tool is that the generated key points will include direct links to the sections from which the generative tool derived the information. This feature is designed to aid users in fact-checking and obtaining more information on the subject matter. Moreover, the tool also assists users in finding answers to specific questions by extracting relevant information from the article. As of now, this new feature within the Search Labs is only available in English and is accessible to a limited number of users in the United States. Google has not provided a specific timeline for its global rollout.
